72% of survey respondents aim to move into a new role in the next 12 months

A big thank you to everyone who completed our recent Marketing Leadership Survey. This anonymous survey was sent to our Heads of Marketing candidates, gathering information on their aspirations and opinions in order to advise clients and to improve our services. There was an incredible response that will certainly help when supporting the whole of our marketing community. 

Headline results indicate that: 

  • 72% of candidates aim to move into a new role in the next 12 months 

  • And 65% are considering interim/short term contracts. 

This very much supports our stance on interim roles as the ideal solution for clients and candidates during times of uncertainty or change. This is further supported by a recent article in Marketing Week on that very topic.  

There are many advantages to interim/short term contracts, but what we are seeing is a clear trend towards an integrated approach to interim and permanent hiring, so that clients can benefit from interim specialist knowledge in the short-term, for specific projects, along with the careful recruitment of a permanent hire for the long-term - this all comes with significantly less financial risk. And, for interim candidates, it enables them to build a diverse portfolio and to enjoy greater flexibility within their role. It’s truly a win/win. 

We will share further results from our survey in the coming weeks, including what candidates expect from their roles (salary and benefits), their marketing priorities for the foreseeable future, and which courses are in demand for their learning and development.
